The authorities of the Nigerian Army have retired some top generals of the Army.

It was gathered that those retired were ten in number.

Among those affected were the former Director of Training and Operations, Defence Headquarters, Maj.-Gen. Lawrence Ngugbane, the former Commander of Training, Doctrine and Command, Maj.-Gen. Babagana Mungonu, and the former Chief of Research and Development, Maj.-Gen. Obinali Ariahu.

A top military source said on Wednesday that the generals were retired because they had put in the maximum years in service.

The source said that the retirement exercise was routine and not punitive.

The source added that the retirement exercise was expected to take place every quarter of the year.

The source couldn’t give the names of the others affected in the exercise.

“It is true that some of our generals have been retired. The exercise is a routine one. It is not a punitive retirement, they have reached their terminal level.

“Some of them were asked to proceed on the compulsory terminal leave in June this year,” the source said.

Our correspondent could not contact the Director of Defence Information, Brig.- Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, for comments as the calls placed to his mobile telephone line indicated that it was switched off or in an area outside network coverage.

POSSIBLE CAUSES FOR ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

erectile dysfunctionerectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is majorly a male problem that might look simple but can wreak a lot of havoc on homes and bring about pains that can take a whole life time to heal.

WHAT IS ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION?

Erectile dysfunction is the inability of the male organ(penis)to maintain an erection sufficient for satisfying sexual activity.

POSSIBLE CAUSES OF ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

1. Casual and unprotected sex: casual and unprotected sex can expose you to bacterial diseases or sexual transmitted infections, and when they are not properly treated can lead to erectile dysfunction.

2.Forceful Penetration: In some rare cases forceful penetration can cause an erectile dysfunction,If your man-hood is bent suddenly or forcefully while erect, the trauma might cause a man-hood fracture.

3.Heart disease and diabetes: Restricted blood flow caused by diabetes and atherosclerosis— hardening of the arteries — can cause erectile dysfunction.

4.Piercings: A man-hood piercing can cause skin infections.

5.Age Related Cause: Testosterone levels decline normally as you age. This might lead to a decrease in sexual interest, a need for more stimulation to achieve and maintain an erection, a less forceful ejaculation and a need for more time before you can achieve another erection.

6.Neurological conditions: Stroke, spinal cord and back injuries, multiple sclerosis and dementia can affect the transfer of nerve impulses from the brain to the man-hood, causing erectile dysfunction.

7.Psychological problems: Depression can cause a loss of libido. Likewise, if you experience an erection problem, you might be concerned that it’ll happen again — causing anxiety or depression. This can compound the problem and lead to impotence.Trauma — such as child abuse — can lead to pain associated with sex.

8.Hormone levels: Hormone imbalances, such as testosterone deficiency or too much of the hormone prolactin, have been linked to erectile dysfunction.

9.Smoking. Smoking doubles your risk of erectile dysfunction.

10.Certain medications and treatments. Certain medications and treatments can affect your man-hood health. For example, surgical removal of the prostate gland (radical prostatectomy) and surrounding tissue as treatment for prostate cancer might cause urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction.

The above listed causes of erectile dysfunction might not be the exhaustive list, there are still other causes of erectile dysfunction. in our next article, we shall consider possible solutions to erectile dysfunction and self help methods to get you back in shape and help you perform better than you ever expected.

6 Signs You are in a Healthy Relationship!!!

healthy relationship

Most couples tend to define their relationship as being good or bad. However, psychiatrists and marriage counselors believe that the actual term that should define a relationship is “healthy”. A relationship (be it a healthy or an unhealthy one), has to pass through testing times. If you too are going through some ups and downs, it is best to find out how healthy your relationship is. Here are a few things which will help you to discover the current state of your relationship.

1. Mutual respect
This is an ultimate test for any relationship. Respecting your partner is perhaps the biggest contribution you can make towards a stronger relationship. This does not mean that you start worshipping your partner. Here, respect could be something as simple as admiring them for the manner in which they handle a stressful job and fulfill their duties towards you and your kids.

2. Personal crisis is not an individual struggle
Everybody goes through difficult times due to factors such as health, workplace and family issues. However, in a healthy relationship, your problems are no longer just yours. This means, he or she is there to sense that you are struggling with something, and is also ready to help. Couple-hood loses its essence if the two of you are not there for each other during tough times.

3. No Room for abuse
This refers to an abusive behavior beyond the realm of just saying negative words to each other. Forcing you to relent even when you are not in the mood to get intimate is also a type of physical and mental abuse. Also, being repeatedly badmouthed by the in-laws despite your best attempts to appease them is parallel to being psychologically abused. If such things are part of your relationship, it is certainly not healthy.

4. Being happy for each other comes naturally
If you two can feel happy for each other for the smallest of accomplishments, it indicates a healthy relationship. For instance, if your wife is praised by her boss, it is a reason enough for you to feel happy for her. Similarly, the smallest layer of muscle your husband has added through his gyming makes you kiss him with adoration. These are strong indications that your bond does not need significant happenings to make you feel happy for the other person.

5. Minimal boredom
This is perhaps the most common relationship challenge till date. Most couples, who have a difficult time dealing with their couple-hood (including the newlyweds), keep talking about a certain kind of boredom that has set in their relationship. Though this is an inevitable part of any relationship, the boredom should not become overwhelming. So much so, that you no longer wait for the ‘exclusive moments’ with him or her. If it has been more than a couple of months when you last spent some quality time with your spouse, your relationship is for sure taking a gradual nosedive.

6. Honesty is not an issue
When being honest, and I mean, being brutally honest with each other is not an issue, you can be assured that you share a healthy relationship. This is easier said than done, since sharing what you actually feel, your opinions or emotional state in its absolute sincere form does not come easy.

Lady Maltreated By Lover For Smoking

a lady maltreated for smoking

Temitope Oladejo,26, never envisaged that the once blossoming romance between her and her lover, Ahmed Babalola, would go sour, judging by the endearing manner at which Babalola pampered her from the onset.

But today, she is looking a shadow of her old self ,following several scars on her body allegedly inflicted on her by Babalola.

Trouble according to her, started after she discovered that her lover was smoking Indian hemp. Out of concern ,she reportedly accosted him, only to be given the beaten of her life.

In this interview with Crime Guard, she barely managed to speak. She had blood- stained eyes and swollen face, no thanks to another round of beaten she received from her live-in-lover Babalola.

Narrating what she described as her greatest undoing , she said:“he came back home recently and I found a wrap of Indian hemp on him. I knew he smokes but never knew he was into Indian hemp. I pleaded with him to quit but he kept quiet.

Next day, I told him I was going to visit my mum that was ill. He also said he was going out but that he was not having any money on him. I told him I had N300 which I opted to share with him .

But when I went to take my bath, he searched my bag and found N2000. He asked where I got the money from and I told him it was not mine. At that point, he started ranting, looking for an avenue for another round of beating.

I reminded him that I was not owing him because he usually goes out and comes in without caring to drop money for our little daughter’s upkeep. Before I knew it, he gave a hot slap on my face and started beating me. When I attempted to shout to alert neighbours, he picked a towel and gagged me. I managed to escape . But by then, he had inflicted injuries all over my face”

Asked why she had not bothered to report to her family or that of Babalola, she disclosed that they were not legally married. Also asked why she did not deem it fit to report the matter to the police, she winked, saying, “ I have on several occasions reported the incessant battering to the police. But each time, they would ask me to go home and resolve the issue with him.

He beats me at the slightest provocation, particularly when I cautioned him against smoking Indian hemp. My worry was not only his smoking attitude but the fact that each time, he comes asking me to give him money and when I refused, he would beat me up.

As if that was not enough, he threatened to beat up my mother when I ran to her place for treatment. He told her to leave us alone that she had no right over his relationship with me”.

NGO to her rescue
Determined to put a stop to the beating, she said she was refereed to the Rights and Empowerment Advocacy Initiative, from where the case was charged to court.

In a letter to the President/Executive Director of Citizens Rights and Empowerment Advocacy Initiative,CREMA Comrade Rex Kennedy Saltlove, titled “Assistance to Intervene on Assault Caseand Petition to Stop the Intimidation of My Mum and I by Mr Ahmed Babalola, Oladejo appealed for immediate steps to be taken before Babalola snuffed life out of her and her mum.

The case, has been charged to Magistrate’s Court 8,with the next hearing coming up on September 7, 2013.But relatives according to her, were trying to pacify her to settle the case out of court.

There is however, a new twist to the whole saga as Oladejo said she received a phone call few days ago, where the caller who identified himself as a policeman, requested to see her and her mum at Area ‘M’ Command, Idimu, that there was a petition of threat to life against them by Babalola.

TRAINING CHILDREN FROM INFANCY TO ADOLESCENCE

how to train children from infancy

Training a child can be a daunting task especially when the parents fail to start on time. the best time to start training a child for sure is when they are young and can be easily controlled and directed.

AS CHILDREN grow, they explore the boundaries of their expanding world. They interact with more people—playmates, schoolmates, and extended family. when children interact with different people, the parents definitely are not the only people that influence them anymore. That is why it is essential that you use these years to teach your child the value of obedience and good manners. It is also important to provide direction with regard to right and wrong.

To train a child requires a lot, like, you have to reprove, reprimand, exhort, with all long-suffering and art of teaching.

Children ought to be tought at every given opportunity, seize every opportunity to inculcate something in your children. for you to be able to teach your children effectively, you have to develop the art of listening. listen when they talk, either to you or to friends and neighbors. children hardly keep secrets, so when you listen carefully when your children talk you can easily understand how they feel about things and also what they are going
through.

Make your children your friends. its normal for your friend to tell you what is bothering him or her, if you make your children your friend, they will more easily tell you things that bother them and also ask you anything they do not understand.

Do not hold back discipline. when your children flaunt your law, knowingly or unknowingly do not hold back discipline. if there are certain standards you set in your family and you also set out punishment for the offender and you child side steps, make sure the proportionate discipline is melt out. this will help the child to see reasons why he/she should never disobey your laws, and it will also help them to see why they should always fulfill their promises when they make one.

In disciplining your children, do not let them see you as a wicked father, that will make them see you as another enemy or threat they have, so you must show reasonableness when disciplining your children.
